Accessing the roof load of a higher car is usually something for acrobats - especially accessing the roof from the side on 4WDs, SUV or vans with roof boxes..
They either use the seat as step and hold tight with one hand to not fall backwards or they need a sturdy box or passenger to help.
This little foldable foot step fits in the glove box for you to always have it within reach.
The door foot step is hooked in the door lock striker on the B or C column. Your weight puts pressure on the rubber rear edge of the step and with this provides a safe and sturdy stepping aid. You can reach the roof load quickly and much safer from both sides.

Is the door lock striker strong enough?
The door lock strikers on a car are designed to withstand forces many times higher than the weight of a human to prevent that the doors opens in an accident or forcefully break-in attempt. The door step is made of solid aluminium, covered with grooved non-slip PVC and holds up to 200 kg. An extra rubber for the edges comes with the step to protect the paintwork

This spare wheel carrier is made of stainless steel and fits Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4.
The original spare tyre is carried under the vehicle which is not the best spot because of all the water, sand, rocks that hits it and it is sometimes difficult to remove the spare wheel.

With this spare wheel carrier the spare tyre is carried at the rear of the vehicle. The carrier is screwed on directly to the rear cross member, holes need to be drilled in the original rear bumper.
